HOBOKEN HOUSING AUTHORITY CHAIRMAN STUIVER CALLS FOR SPECIAL MEETING TO APPOINT GENERAL COUNSEL
The Hoboken Housing Authority Board of Commissioners will have a special meeting on Thursday, Feb. 7 at 7 p.m. in the community room of Monroe Gardens, 221 Jackson Street, Chairman Jake Stuiver announced today.
The purpose of the meeting will be to discuss responses to the Request for Qualifications for general counsel to the Hoboken Housing Authority, whose bid deadline is Feb. 1. Action will likely be taken to make an appointment based on the responses.
The timing of the meeting will give commissioners a week to review all the submissions, while allowing another week before the regular monthly board meeting on Feb. 14.
Also on the agenda will be a discussion and review of the status of Phase 1 of the Vision 20/20 redevelopment project to recap where things stand and ensure that all stakeholders’ understanding of the project is clear.
Stuiver requested that the HHA staff provide all commissioners with all RFQ submissions by the end of business on the deadline day of Feb. 1. He also requested that the staff acquire and implement a new public-address system with a microphone for each commissioner in time for the special meeting to resolve ongoing problems with the existing sound system and its limitations, to avert any future episodes resembling the disruptions of the Jan. 10 meeting
