His arrest, conviction and prison sentence may be all behind him as in two weeks, a hearing will be held to consider changing his suspended law license and allow him to be a NJ practicing attorney again.
The first rumor had been he had not been disbarred by the NJ but only had his license suspended after his arrest and conviction. The second rumor heard going back to last summer said he was going to get his law license back.
Both appear to be true.
Terence McDonald at The Jersey Journal filed this report saying in part:
The state Disciplinary Review Board (DRB) has recommended suspension, saying Cammarano, a Democrat who served as mayor for only 22 days before he was arrested in the massive 2009 Operation Bid Rog III corruption sweep, was a passive participant in the bribery scheme and was relatively young at the time he was arrested...
The N.J. Supreme Court will decide one way or the other after a disciplinary hearing next Wednesday where Cammarano is expected to appear...
The DRB voted 4 to 2 in favor of suspension over disbarment, with the two members who recommended disbarment saying elected officials should be "held to the highest of standards."

Last summer he attended his block party and the rumors were already circulating it could happen.
