The original contradictory discrimination verdict in Jersey City at Hudson Superior Court by a jury was for over a million dollars. The jury held Mayor Dawn Zimmer not liable but gave an award to Alicea.

Unconfirmed, the City of Hoboken should see a significant amount paid by its insurance carrier which would be a better result for Hoboken taxpayers.

The Hoboken City Council voted unanimously 7-0 to approve the settlement with Timmy Occhipinti and Beth Mason absent.

Last August, the council approved a more paltry 95K ending another another termination lawsuit brought by former Environment Services director Jennifer Maier.
