Annette's big Mile Square night out

If you call it a homecoming, no one would say you were wrong but it had the feel of a celebration and one could dare say it: unity.

For Hoboken, that's a marvelous word to utter because it had all the atmosphere of both even if temporary before the next major City Hall election - for mayor in 2017.

Officially, this was a fundraiser for Hoboken's new Assemblywoman Annette Chaparro. Chief among the political dignitaries, NJ Assembly Speaker Vinnie Prieto who was the unofficial master of ceremonies and brought a barrage of support trailing the event with him.

Here's the video of the event, courtesy of the Hudson County View:

Also spotted in the political scrum at Dino & Harry's uptown: Hoboken Mayor Dawn Zimmer, Freeholder Anthony Romano, Councilman Peter Cunningham, former NJ State Senator Majority Leader Bernie Kenny, Assemblyman Raj Mukherji, Weehawken Mayor Richard Turner, Hoboken Police Chief Kenny Ferrante, County Executive Tom Degise and Hoboken Asst. Business Administrator Stephen Marks.

Power trio: Hoboken Police Chief Ken Ferrante, his lady Assemblywoman Annette Chaparro and Mayor Dawn Zimmer strike a pose at Dino & Harry's last night.

Assembly stablemates: Assemblyman Raj Mukerji joined his colleague for the festivities.

No doubt this horse is missing someone in that jammed to the gills scrum at the bar of Dino & Harry's. Even a former Hoboken Fire Chief found his way to the event in Richard Tremitiedi. His wife Mary has been ill in the hospital but he came out to rub shoulders. Add her to your prayers as we hear she is a regular reader of MSV and Grafix Avenger. Let's make her feel it!

As for NJ Assemblywoman Annette Chaparro, she found herself wrapped in support and was smiles all evening.
