From the desk of Councilman Peter Cunningham:
Dear family, friends and neighbors,
The election season is upon us from the national to the local level next month, and it's time to focus on Hoboken. While the national elections tend to take center stage, the local elections is where you can truly make a difference as every vote counts. I have always encouraged my constituents to be an informed voter by reading up on all the candidates, attending candidate forums and meeting the candidates at every opportunity.
I am supporting the "Forward Together" candidates for Hoboken School Board because they are a smart well informed team comprised of two incumbents Jennifer Evans and Irene Sobolov, and newcomer Sheillah Dallara. She's not really a newcomer. Sheillah ran a great campaign last year and did a terrific job at the candidate forum.
This is a hard working team demonstrating leadership and overcoming great budgetary challenges to move our Public School District forward. We can be proud of their progress and the impact they have had on Hoboken's overall success. Families are staying and attending our public schools.
This Thursday come out and meet these candidates. Join me and my council colleagues Ravi Bhalla, Jim Doyle, Tiffanie Fisher and Jen Giattino at their kick off at Ganache at 1500 Hudson Street at 7pm. Thanks, Peter
From the desk of Councilman Ravi Bhalla:
Dear Friends and Neighbors –
While much of our country is focused on Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump, I write to bring your attention to something more local, where your vote can actually make a difference for Hoboken on Election Day this November. In addition to the presidential election, on November 8th there is a school board election for three seats on our Board of Education.
I’m proud to be endorsing the Forward Together Hoboken team - Jennifer Evans, Sheillah Dallara, and Irene Sobolov in this important election, and I hope you’ll join me! Having dedicated, qualified, intelligent people on the school board is crucial to continuing the progress we’ve seen in our schools, and I trust their leadership and decision-making abilities to make an even better public school district in our city.
Have questions? Want to meet the candidates? Please join us in a meet and greet at Ganache (1500 Hudson St.) on Thursday, Oct. 6 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. You can also join us at 626 Bloomfield St. (the home of Tom and Lynn Kluepfel) on Friday, Oct. 14 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
I’ll be attending, along with the Forward Together Hoboken slate and council members Peter Cunningham, Jim Doyle, Tiffanie Fisher, and Jen Giattino. These events are a great way to ensure the people who can make a difference in our community hear your concerns. Hope to see you there!
Ravinder S. Bhalla
