Based on a source of unknown reliability, the Republican gubernatorial primary is being called for Lt. Governor Kim Guadagno. (8:17 pm)

More than $20 million spent by Phil Murphy is anticipated to catapult him into a November face-off versus the Lt. Governor on the Democrat side.

Phil Murphy will face off against Lt. Governor Kim Guadagno this November
to see who will be NJ Governor.

With less than 57% of the vote tallied, Guadagno's lead is coming in at 49% of the vote. Murphy is leading on his side with 48%.

As of 9:04 according to the NY Times, Phil Murphy is declared the Democratic primary winner for governor. Lt. Governor Kim Guadagno followed soon after declared the Republican primary winner.

A showdown between the two appeared inevitable.

The only vaguely contested local primary race in Hoboken is for Freeholder where incumbent Anthony "Stick" Romano is expected to easily defeat perennial candidate Patricia Waiters and a write-in resistance vote for Kurt Gardiner.

Romano will likely face Adela Rohena the Republican winner this November.

State Senator Brian Stack, Assembly members Annette Chaparro, Raj Mukherji like Freeholder Anthony Romano are winners expecting token opposition in November.
