BREAKING EXCLUSIVE: RAVI BHALLA COUNCIL SLATE

MILE SQUARE VIEW EXCLUSIVE

It's a wondrous surprise being a mayoral candidate and then vying to put together a council slate on a body you've served for eight years.

So without further adieu, MSV gives you the Ravi Bhalla council slate.

One odd twist, all of the candidates are third ward residents.

Councilman Ravi Bhalla (r) is set with his council at-large slate.
This photo was at a summer event last year. Things were quieter then.

The three council at-large candidates are: Jim Doyle, Emily Jabbour and John Allen.

The selection of Jim Doyle guarantees that at least one of Councilman Bhalla’s council colleagues will also be endorsing him for mayor. One can say at least one of eight colleagues isn’t bad. City Council President Jen Giattino has council members Peter Cunningham and Tiffanie Fisher in her corner. That’s not likely to change.

Ms. Jabbour is known in Hoboken school district circles and John Allen is a lawyer who is also a new member of the Hoboken Democratic Committee.

Let's hold on for further details on the slate as now two of the four slates are mostly complete. Councilman Mike DeFusco has one of his three selections to make.

Both Stick Romano and Jen Giattino have their full boat of three council at-large candidates to pick.

Talking Ed Note: MSV learned there's been some friction in reporting the news. After this initial story was published on MSV at dinner time; it turned out John Heinis of the Hudson County View already confirmed Jim Doyle's name on the Bhalla ticket.

So the MSV exclusive turns out to have been only a two-thirds exclusive. Hat tip to the Hudson County View.
Well done!

Elsewhere, there's untidy fighting about the news being reported. Yikes, it's July folks. Take the news where you can get it. This is a small wave on the way to some storms between now and Election Day.
