Hoboken BoE vs. HoLa

The years long controversial legal battle waged in Hoboken schools between the Hoboken BoE and the HoLa charter school is coming to a head with an Appellate hearing featuring oral argument tomorrow morning in Jersey City.

Originally the fight over public funding in the expansion of HoLa to seventh and eight grades, the question now is overpowered by the funding battle and could become a statewide election issue this fall.

The state approved the grade expansion back in March 2015 as seen in this story.

A long awaited Appellate hearing for oral argument is set for tomorrow with the BoE versus the NJ Department of Education Tuesday morning.

Sign of the Times: Hoboken springs into weekend life

Hoboken saw a banner day with a summer-like day Saturday. Hundreds of residents came out Saturday to pitch-in and add a little early season clean-up across the Mile Square City.

A photo essay is coming.
