President Trump and the task force, live from the White House address the nation. 6:00 pm
In his initial remarks, President Trump talks about his "hope" to get the nation open and running in the near future (weeks not months). He's targeting mid-April but the details are not clear pending analytics, combination drug therapy applications and the decision by state governors. The suggestion is it won't be one size fits all.
President Trump also states in his opening remarks: "we should never be reliant on a foreign country for our survival" and points to manufacturing and the borders being critical
"This experience shows how important borders are. Without borders, you don't have a nation," the president added.
He further points to the importance of (domestic) medical supplies and energy, manufacturing and economic independence.
Dr. Deborah Birx expressed her optimism with the trend of the virus in Italy and acknowledged the US is on the front end of the curve in infections.
Dr. Anthony Fauci discussed importance of testing the heavy hit in infection in New York City and that numerous drugs are in the pipeline for clinical testing.
Talking Ed Note: It's clear that listening to the sources of information is critically important as the reporting is laced with Fake News and political objectives. Sadly, it's not with the best interest of American and Americans but the worst.
