President Trump & Coronavirus Task Force: White House Briefing Live

President Trump and the task force, live from the White House address the nation. 6:00 pm

In his initial remarks, President Trump talks about his "hope" to get the nation open and running in the near future (weeks not months). He's targeting mid-April but the details are not clear pending analytics, combination drug therapy applications and the decision by state governors. The suggestion is it won't be one size fits all.

President Trump also states in his opening remarks: "we should never be reliant on a foreign country for our survival" and points to manufacturing and the borders being critical

"This experience shows how important borders are. Without borders, you don't have a nation," the president added.

He further points to the importance of (domestic) medical supplies and energy, manufacturing and economic independence.

Dr. Deborah Birx expressed her optimism with the trend of the virus in Italy and acknowledged the US is on the front end of the curve in infections.

Dr. Anthony Fauci discussed importance of testing the heavy hit in infection in New York City and that numerous drugs are in the pipeline for clinical testing.

Talking Ed Note: It's clear that listening to the sources of information is critically important as the reporting is laced with Fake News and political objectives. Sadly, it's not with the best interest of American and Americans but the worst.

Hoboken: 25 cases, 0 hospitalizations & trillion $$ emergency bill blocked by Dems may cease

The Mile Square City sits in the shadow of ground zero again.

On a more positive note, there's a reported 25 cases of the Chinese Communist Party virus plague and of them, not a single person is hospitalized pointing to the figures indicating 80-85% of those infected do not require much by way of medical attention.

That's a big goose egg as other area hospitals are being hampered by the intensive needs of cases connected to the virus.

Across the state of NJ with its nine million residents, there are 3,675 cases, 44 deaths and 846 people added to the infected list.

By way of comparison, the winter season flu is reported to have caused deaths in the range of 23,000 to 59,000.

23,000 – 59,000

An emerging treatments for the coronavirus sees a trial begin in New York as Governor Andrew Cuomo received a major  shipment from the federal government starting today.

As reported earlier by Forbes:

  • During a Sunday press briefing, Cuomo said 750,000 doses of chloroquine, 70,000 doses of hydroxychloroquine and 10,000 doses of Zithromax were acquired by New York state for the trial.
  • Chloroquine (an anti-malaria drug) and hydroxychloroquine (used for lupus and arthritis) were approved by the FDA for clinical trials as possible coronavirus treatments, while Zithromax is a brand-name antibiotic.
  • "The president is optimistic about these drugs and we are all optimistic that it could work,” Cuomo said.
On the flip side, the optimism expressed by Governor Cuomo met with positive reaction by a savagely partisan media which won't quit its political efforts, created a backlash to the sunny hope expressed by President Trump last week.

An Arizona couple took fish tank cleaner with one man dying and the wife hospitalized. That is being attributed to President Trump by scores of media in the latest attempt to either hope for the worst with the combination therapy given high grades in limited testing in France or to simply incorrectly place blame.

Others known for their focus on hating President Trump are being called out for their less than savory behavior. Here's infamous lawyer George Conway of Wachtell Lipton being taken to the woodshed by a pro-Trump memeologist:

Of course if the application in New York fares well, anticipate reams of column inches praising the bravery of Governor Cuomo. He's receiving glowing media attention while presidential nominee in waiting Joe Biden has been mostly in hiding and was completely invisible on the Sunday talk shows.

On the legislative side, bipartisan efforts through the weekend were almost complete for a massive multi-trillion dollar emergency package before the House Speaker injected herself while on vacation ending any hopes of smooth passage yesterday.

Sen. Chuck Schumer (D) NY soon followed backtracking from the bipartisan weekend efforts and came out labeling the emergency funding for the national emergency over the Wuhan novel SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus "a Republican bill."

The delay to add a litany of pork, ideological and otherwise, (solar panel tax credits, airline emissions regulations, $35M for the Kennedy Center) outraged Senators who anticipated bipartisan passage yesterday.

Hundreds of Americans are under enormous pressure losing jobs, being told to self-isolate and absorbing a massive financial blow. They want to see emergency action, not politics as usual. DC sources here suggest this may be remedied by tomorrow.

One person who never voted Republican in her life is fed up as many Americans in this first-ever crisis:
At the White House briefing yesterday, President Trump stated analysis will continue to be collected but not all areas of the country will be handled the same going forward. He stated governors will play a role in getting the economy moving again as "the cure is not worse than the disease."

In addition, all the Fake News about a National lockdown are false.

Former Asst. US Attorney Andrew McCarthy is taking on another pending Fake News media onslaught noting:

Talking Ed Note: This is the sad times Americans live in where Fake News is non-stop even in the face of a NATIONAL EMERGENCY not seen since World War II.

Unlike during 9-11 when the political noise stopped, there's no end in sight. It started to pause and then kicked right back up and all the lemmings fell right in line pushing Fake News on Twitter and Facebook.

What will it take for them to stop? Maybe they need to feel the pain front and center. Maybe for some that won't even stall their TDS (Trump Derangement Syndrome).

Today's latest hype is around ventilators. Gov. Cuomo wants to stash tens of thousands and machines like this are not made overnight. Nor can President Trump "order" companies to make machines they have no capability to produce.

This won't stop Fake News and the usual political attacks we've seen to date. Expect the shrieking to go non-stop even as thousands of ventilators are transported to New York.

Other states like New Jersey and California will have a need too and everything can't be stockpiled for New York based on what they would like to have stored on hand for potential caseloads.

Other materials are backlogged and ramping up but the shortage of those medical supplies, almost entirely dependent on Red China are being addressed.

That issue like antibiotics almost exclusively made in mainland China put the entire US population at risk.

Some levity with the good, the bad and the very ugly

Everyone doing the dinosaur?

On the local front, Hoboken sees 25 cases of the Chinese Communist Party Virus and zero hospitalizations.

Back soon.
